Vanita Leo was born and raised in the heartland of Tejano: San Antonio, TX. Coming from a lineage of Tejano artists like her father (Marco Jaime, Grupo Maldad) and her tia (Esmeralda Jaime), who both crossed paths with Selena herself, and attending the Stephen F Austin Academy of Mariachi as a teen all while growing up on San Antonio's east side and selling raspados with her family - Vanita's sound emerges- a nostalgic, yet modern twist on Cumbia with Pop and R&B influence with a kiss of Teiano that could only come from a born and raised Texan. With a distinctive voice and lyrics written both like poems and texts to a toxic ex, Vanita blends concepts of love, toxic relationship patterns and exploration of identity. From her debut single 'solo tu bb' to the emotional cycle of a relationship from beginning to end in "Cumbiamante"; Vanita's world of hot cheeto girl with a soft heart comes to lifebeautifully. With an undeniable personality and a strong aesthetic that resonates with a new generation of listeners, Vanita Leo is one to watch in 2026.
