Lauren Light

Lauren Light is a DJ, curator, and cultural organizer shaping culture-forward music spaces across Austin and Nashville. Her sets blend Jazz, Funk, Disco, House, Baile Funk, Hip-Hop, and R&B, creating dynamic, communal experiences wherever she plays. As co-founder of Where Y’all At Though?!, Lauren’s work has evolved from creating women-centered spaces to curating broader cultural environments that uplift Black and Brown creatives and the communities around them. She also holds residencies at Old Glory Nashville and Soho House Austin, further shaping each city’s sonic landscape. In 2024, she launched Haven—a femme-focused open decks community that ran for a year and became a trusted starting point for many emerging DJs. Haven’s legacy lives on through the artists who found their voice, practice, and community within its walls. At SXSW, Lauren brings that same ethos: intentional curation, community-centered energy, and a sound rooted in expanding who gets to take up space in music culture.
