JASNO started as a typo on the first piece of music I ever released. Like many gay boys allergic to sincerity, my friends bullied me for it until the name stuck. Therapy wasn’t in my budget so I made up a whole new identity My debut LP If You Listen To This You’re Gay (2024) was grunge-flavored self-interrogation: loud guitars and arguments with the mean little voice in my head. I made it alone in my studio, assuming no one would hear it. Then in May 2025 The Dandy Warhols asked me to open their New York 30th anniversary shows. I hadn’t planned to play live so I asked my bestie Jess Dye (High Waisted) to put a band together, and our first show was at Bowery Ballroom. Casual That weekend sparked a monthly event supporting local music. I also collaborated with drag artists Amanda Tori Meating (Drag Race Season 16) and Bebe Deluxe, leading to a guitar-smashing performance at Bushwig 2025 After my viral Lou Reed–style cover of Charli XCX’s “360,” I leaned into colliding ’60s rock textures with ’90s dance music. My recent single “Good Boy” smashes buzzy guitars and bouncy house rhythms to soundtrack cruising a dark room at 2 a.m. in a New York sex club you’ll only find on Sniffies
