NOOK Turner

NOOK Turner is a powerhouse rapper, activist, and community leader based in Austin, Texas . His moniker—NOOK, standing for Never Outcasting Our Kind—pays tribute to Nat Turner and reflects his dedication to financial freedom and Black liberation through music. In May 2025 NOOK was featured on the cover of the Austin Chronicle! An Austin Eastside native, NOOK Turner began writing rhymes as a child and toured and performed consistently since the age 11 yrs old. As a recording artist, he gained early fame with his club hit “I’m On It” featuring the Ying Yang Twins and cemented his sound with collaborations like “Put Ya Hustle 1st” featuring MO3 & Trina, and “Make Money” with Boosie Badazz. His album The Hustle dropped in January 2025, showcasing tracks like “Texas Baby”, “Amazing”, and “Overnight Success” that blend motivation with personal storytelling . NOOK Turner is also the founder of J.O.I. Community Outreach, oversees the Black Culture 360–branded Jump On It events, and serves on the board of the Black Austin Coalition, advocating for preservation of Black heritage and youth empowerment in East Austin.
