MrWootay is a Southern rapper and storyteller whose music reflects the raw realities of street life. Raised on the North Side of Shreveport in “Da Cooper Road” by his mother, Ms. Vanessa, he grew up shaped by hardship and resilience. His name was inspired by Soulja Slim’s song “Wootay,” a tribute to the Southern rap culture that heavily influenced his sound. A 1998 graduate of Green Oaks High School, MrWootay began his rap career in 2001, developing a gritty gangsta rap style known for unfiltered storytelling and authenticity. An independent artist, he built a grassroots following through early platforms like Myspace and continues to promote his music through social media, connecting directly with fans and pushing new releases. Inspired by legends such as Eazy-E, Master P, Soulja Slim, and Juvenile, MrWootay blends street wisdom, Southern influence, and relentless work ethic into every record.
