Mike Checc is Houston’s hometown hero. The Nigerian-born rapper is as layered as his bars; a graduate of The University of Houston and an IT specialist. Despite his sometimes shaky upbringing, Mike chose music and poetry as a way to rise above his circumstances. “It was difficult coming to a new country and trying to find your way.” Mike was a prominent force in the underground scene from 2015-2017 with the likes of Don Toliver and Ken The Man, until the passing of his brother in 2017.
