Funky Caramelo

DJ Funky Caramelo is a seed from Mexico City, harvested by the streets of LA. She's a queer femme who utilizes the stage as a way to equalize female-identified representation within nightlife event productions. Through her DJ sets, she aims to celebrate and uplift the music from artists of color, especially those who have been historically disenfranchised. Funky Caramelo has performed across various stages (DANCE DTLA, Angel City Football Club; FanFest, Netflix; Gentefied, Pantaya; Bronco Series) college campuses (Brown, UC Riverside) and museums (Brooklyn Art Museum, HAMMER, Autry). She has been featured in Remezcla, KCET, GMA and UPROXX. She previously served as the resident DJ at Cumbiatón along with leading marketing, press and promotion for the party.
