Empty Nesters is the recording project of Montreal-based Chinese and Vietnamese Canadian artist Eric Liao. Evolving from earlier explorations in shoegaze, indie, and ambient music, Liao has entered a bold new chapter rooted in hardcore punk. His recent work channels themes of burnout, identity, and personal frustration into cathartic, high-energy performances that balance raw aggression with emotional depth.
